Stan is a lifelong student of and performer of music. In addition to "Great Songs by Stan Hamrick," he is the bassist and bandleader for Potomac Jazz Project, a 5-Star Gigmasters Jazz Ensemble. He has studied music at The University of Virginia, The University of Maryland and George Mason University. He has studied Jazz Bass with Thelonius Monk Competition Finalist Tom Baldwin at the University of Maryland and Classical Bass with Glenn Dewey of the President's Marine Band and George Mason University. He has played with the University of Virginia Symphony Orchestra, The University of Maryland Big Band, as well as some of the best jazz musicians in the DC area. He has sung with the UVa associated choir Jubilate.

Stan's repertoire includes Great American Songbook standards, jazz standards, Brazilian bossa novas, a number of Beatles classics (like "Eleanor Rigby" and "And I Love Her") and other popular standards (like "Crazy" and "Dream"). Even light classical pieces can be included for variety! Stan with his guitar will bring great songs of many genres - standards, jazz, blues, bossas, pop and classic rock - to life for your party or event! Stan can work as a soloist or with a backup band depending on the client needs, desires and size of your event.
